My first Ken Follett! Fun, but very pedestrian prose. It's all about WW1, several different characters intersecting and occasionally having clunky sex. However the story's quite gripping so I think I'll finish the trilogy despite a few eye rolls here and there. It's not BAD writing, you understand, it's just not great.
