What I'm Reading

Have you ever read a book that's so good on your Kindle and realised you wanted to own a physical copy so you could take it down and read it whenever you wanted to, just let it open to a page, let the paper feel of it comfort you like an old security blanket? I love my Kindle. I love its convenience and its memory and its battery life but sometimes, damn, I just want an ACTUAL BOOK, you know? On my Kindle, it doesn't feel real somehow, the fact of the book and so recently, I bought myself two books I remember DEVOURING on my device, to read them more deeply in paperback. Commonwealth is one of those books. It's a family saga which I love and it's one of those "a small thing happens and that leads to repurcussions" like The Slap, but better. It's been a rereading sort of year thus far, but all the books I'm rereading feel new to me. #bookstagram #mrmbookclub #121in2021 #annpatchett #commonwealth
