This was a happy surprise because the blurb got me thinking this would be one of those feel good novels about a woman who is a TV chef but it turned out to be a novel about an extraordinarily intelligent woman studying chemistry at a time where few women worked. Anyway it's a fun book and what I took away was that she taught her dog English and I feel like now I can teach my cats English too?
