My latest book is The One Who Swam With The Fishes.

"A mesmerizing account of the well-known story of Matsyagandha ... and her transformation from fisherman’s daughter to Satyavati, Santanu’s royal consort and the Mother/Progenitor of the Kuru clan." - Hindustan Times

"Themes of fate, morality and power overlay a subtle and essential feminism to make this lyrical book a must-read. If this is Madhavan’s first book in the Girls from the Mahabharata series, there is much to look forward to in the months to come." - Open Magazine

"A gleeful dollop of Blytonian magic ... Reddy Madhavan is also able to tackle some fairly sensitive subjects such as identity, the love of and karmic ties with parents, adoption, the first sexual encounter, loneliness, and my favourite, feminist rage." - Scroll

Going to the library but felt like looking Goa this afternoon. I'm always hesitant about making big sweeping statements like I'll never buy fast fashion again but I've been consciously only buying from thrift stores, export surplus or getting clothes made by my tailor. If I shop online it's usually from a small brand like these pants I got on sale from Ancestry in Delhi which I wear a lot in the summer. The top is something I bought at a Goa flea market ages ago. My cupboard space is limited here in Berlin and six months of the year is just cold so my summer clothes don't see much of an airing. I'm not zero waste yet but low waste at any rate. It's not hard and it's a lot more fun wearing clothes no one else has. #whatiworetoday
