Today in Photo


I don't normally share food photos on my feed because as lovely as my cooking has become (ahem. At least WE like it so that's something) it's just not very photogenic. But look how beautiful this karela salad is. I let the vegetable ripen on the vine, which is why it has those bright red seeds. My second time making it, since K also likes it, this time I tweaked the recipe: added a little green pepper, and chopped onions and chillis to karela sliced thin in a dressing of vinegar (out of lemons but those are ideal) salt, ginger and a pinch of brown sugar. It's now sitting in the fridge for an hour so the flavours absorb. So good and so green and crunchy! The bitterness fades in the dressing completely. #coronavirusdiaries #homecooking #karela #eatwhatyougrow #terracegarden
