My latest book is The One Who Swam With The Fishes.

"A mesmerizing account of the well-known story of Matsyagandha ... and her transformation from fisherman’s daughter to Satyavati, Santanu’s royal consort and the Mother/Progenitor of the Kuru clan." - Hindustan Times

"Themes of fate, morality and power overlay a subtle and essential feminism to make this lyrical book a must-read. If this is Madhavan’s first book in the Girls from the Mahabharata series, there is much to look forward to in the months to come." - Open Magazine

"A gleeful dollop of Blytonian magic ... Reddy Madhavan is also able to tackle some fairly sensitive subjects such as identity, the love of and karmic ties with parents, adoption, the first sexual encounter, loneliness, and my favourite, feminist rage." - Scroll

What I'm Reading

I went to our local public library yesterday! It was incredible. Here's what I'm currently reading including a German language Tintin (Tim in Tibet) and Nick Hornby's About A Boy in the Easy German reading format. Of course there's loads of English books too as you can see but to see shelves and shelves of the latest novels and graphic novels and non fiction and so on so tantalisingly within reach just separated from me by a language barrier... Well, that's enough of a reward for me to try and pick up this language fast enough to read in it. Man, libraries are awesome. My new favourite building. #library #currentlyreading #bookstagram
