My latest book is The One Who Swam With The Fishes.

"A mesmerizing account of the well-known story of Matsyagandha ... and her transformation from fisherman’s daughter to Satyavati, Santanu’s royal consort and the Mother/Progenitor of the Kuru clan." - Hindustan Times

"Themes of fate, morality and power overlay a subtle and essential feminism to make this lyrical book a must-read. If this is Madhavan’s first book in the Girls from the Mahabharata series, there is much to look forward to in the months to come." - Open Magazine

"A gleeful dollop of Blytonian magic ... Reddy Madhavan is also able to tackle some fairly sensitive subjects such as identity, the love of and karmic ties with parents, adoption, the first sexual encounter, loneliness, and my favourite, feminist rage." - Scroll

Happy Valentine's Day! Going to spend the afternoon on a friend's terrace so not quite a date but K and I have been together practically 24/7 this past year so each day is Valentine's Day etc but also it's nice to finally be able to meet people who are not ourselves. I'm wearing a dress my mother-in-law gave me ages ago which I don't wear very often because it hugs my belly and I'm self conscious of that but I looked at myself in the mirror this morning and I thought fuck it, human beings are not meant to be straight lines. So here's some lumps and bumps showing. Paired with heart patterned tights (couldn't resists) and my beloved @taramaydesign brogues which I have worn a LOT but which still love me. #whatiworetoday
