My latest book is The One Who Swam With The Fishes.

"A mesmerizing account of the well-known story of Matsyagandha ... and her transformation from fisherman’s daughter to Satyavati, Santanu’s royal consort and the Mother/Progenitor of the Kuru clan." - Hindustan Times

"Themes of fate, morality and power overlay a subtle and essential feminism to make this lyrical book a must-read. If this is Madhavan’s first book in the Girls from the Mahabharata series, there is much to look forward to in the months to come." - Open Magazine

"A gleeful dollop of Blytonian magic ... Reddy Madhavan is also able to tackle some fairly sensitive subjects such as identity, the love of and karmic ties with parents, adoption, the first sexual encounter, loneliness, and my favourite, feminist rage." - Scroll

Hello from Germany, where after several thousand hours in an airport and on a plane, we have finally reached K's parents house where we must quarantine for the next two weeks. It's usually ten days, but alas, we're from a high risk area. I've never had so many questions asked at the check in desk at an Indian airport before. Got a little fresh air in the garden before we locked ourselves in the house again, and picked some wildflowers to take inside with us. I don't know all the names but the spiky purple ball thing on the left is wild garlic, the tiny blue ones are forget me nots & there are some daisies in there too. The forget me nots seem especially appropriate right now that I'm thinking of you. More soon. #minnaindeustchland #wildflowers #garden
