My latest book is The One Who Swam With The Fishes.

"A mesmerizing account of the well-known story of Matsyagandha ... and her transformation from fisherman’s daughter to Satyavati, Santanu’s royal consort and the Mother/Progenitor of the Kuru clan." - Hindustan Times

"Themes of fate, morality and power overlay a subtle and essential feminism to make this lyrical book a must-read. If this is Madhavan’s first book in the Girls from the Mahabharata series, there is much to look forward to in the months to come." - Open Magazine

"A gleeful dollop of Blytonian magic ... Reddy Madhavan is also able to tackle some fairly sensitive subjects such as identity, the love of and karmic ties with parents, adoption, the first sexual encounter, loneliness, and my favourite, feminist rage." - Scroll

Today in Photo

Photos from yesterday's Day Of Fun to celebrate @ruthbellatrix birthday. Trying to pose for a #whatiworetoday in front of graffiti in my kalamkari sari blouse and skirt. This photo automat swallowed our money too late for us to notice that someone had spray painted an anarchy symbol on the camera so the strip was ruined, but we tried to recreate it by piling in for a selfie (or four.) Also! Ate the world's most expensive dosa (medium worth it) and sat on several park benches ending with a Beyond Burger (SO GOOD! Tastes just like beef!) at one of the several zillion vegan food stalls dotted across the city. Did not realise so many people were vegan in this city, but apparently it's HUGE now and so everything from vegan Nutella to vegan fish and chips are being served practically everywhere. More in my newsletter next week but you can catch up on my adventures already by checking it outtttt (link in bio.) also street party, and free schnell (quick) covid tests at every street corner. (tested for fun, negative.) #berlinstories #minnaindeutschland
