My latest book is The One Who Swam With The Fishes.

"A mesmerizing account of the well-known story of Matsyagandha ... and her transformation from fisherman’s daughter to Satyavati, Santanu’s royal consort and the Mother/Progenitor of the Kuru clan." - Hindustan Times

"Themes of fate, morality and power overlay a subtle and essential feminism to make this lyrical book a must-read. If this is Madhavan’s first book in the Girls from the Mahabharata series, there is much to look forward to in the months to come." - Open Magazine

"A gleeful dollop of Blytonian magic ... Reddy Madhavan is also able to tackle some fairly sensitive subjects such as identity, the love of and karmic ties with parents, adoption, the first sexual encounter, loneliness, and my favourite, feminist rage." - Scroll

Happy birthday to my bestie who: 1) is not on social media so would accuse me of making this post for the likes (true) (he's on a call so he doesn't know I'm doing it) 2) makes funny faces in almost all the photos I take of him so I have to resort to an old one from March. 3) I miss terribly when we are apart but always with the silver lining that missing someone is a good thing as opposed to NOT missing them. 4) is now officially older than me for the next six months so I can say I'm with an "older man" 5) would object to anything sentimental I wrote over here so no "you are my favourite person sun and moon stars shine in your eyes etc etc" 6) was not a birthday person when I met him but who I have effectively worn down. 7) I love. Here's an evil eye averter to keep us happy birthdaying together for the rest of our lives. 🧿🧿🧿 #happybirthday #berlinian
