My latest book is The One Who Swam With The Fishes.

"A mesmerizing account of the well-known story of Matsyagandha ... and her transformation from fisherman’s daughter to Satyavati, Santanu’s royal consort and the Mother/Progenitor of the Kuru clan." - Hindustan Times

"Themes of fate, morality and power overlay a subtle and essential feminism to make this lyrical book a must-read. If this is Madhavan’s first book in the Girls from the Mahabharata series, there is much to look forward to in the months to come." - Open Magazine

"A gleeful dollop of Blytonian magic ... Reddy Madhavan is also able to tackle some fairly sensitive subjects such as identity, the love of and karmic ties with parents, adoption, the first sexual encounter, loneliness, and my favourite, feminist rage." - Scroll

Delhi again. The cats are HUGE compared to the dainty Goan ones, Bruno and Olga wouldn't be petted when I came in last night, but Squishy gave me an elaborate greeting ending with a "are you ever going to feed me?" bite on my wrist. Then they settled themselves down in bed, heavy bolsters that wouldn't move. This morning I potter around to see if everything is as I remember, my study, the kitchen, the pool of sunlight in the living room. There have been technical difficulties with the water while I've been away but it doesn't seem so frustrating in the light of day as it did last night. Oh flat. I wish I could wear you like a backpack and take you with me wherever I went. #delhicacies #topfloor
