My latest book is The One Who Swam With The Fishes.

"A mesmerizing account of the well-known story of Matsyagandha ... and her transformation from fisherman’s daughter to Satyavati, Santanu’s royal consort and the Mother/Progenitor of the Kuru clan." - Hindustan Times

"Themes of fate, morality and power overlay a subtle and essential feminism to make this lyrical book a must-read. If this is Madhavan’s first book in the Girls from the Mahabharata series, there is much to look forward to in the months to come." - Open Magazine

"A gleeful dollop of Blytonian magic ... Reddy Madhavan is also able to tackle some fairly sensitive subjects such as identity, the love of and karmic ties with parents, adoption, the first sexual encounter, loneliness, and my favourite, feminist rage." - Scroll

God, it's been so long since I've been frivolous. Went to see an equally careful set of friends today. Carried our own wine glasses and hugged only through gestures etc. But I matched my mask to my dress and put on eyeliner for the first time in two months and sat across a table from people I am not related to for the first time in two months. It may be our last time, of course. We could go into another lockdown or get sick or something. But I feel like a large loneliness weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Other people! I'm an extrovert! Who knew? I'm going back into my self isolation now, but I feel less despair already. We will have to resume some sort of life eventually. I guess carefully around other careful people is a good start. #coronavirusdiaries
