My latest book is The One Who Swam With The Fishes.

"A mesmerizing account of the well-known story of Matsyagandha ... and her transformation from fisherman’s daughter to Satyavati, Santanu’s royal consort and the Mother/Progenitor of the Kuru clan." - Hindustan Times

"Themes of fate, morality and power overlay a subtle and essential feminism to make this lyrical book a must-read. If this is Madhavan’s first book in the Girls from the Mahabharata series, there is much to look forward to in the months to come." - Open Magazine

"A gleeful dollop of Blytonian magic ... Reddy Madhavan is also able to tackle some fairly sensitive subjects such as identity, the love of and karmic ties with parents, adoption, the first sexual encounter, loneliness, and my favourite, feminist rage." - Scroll

After her bath, she delicately dusts herself with this and then turns on her laptop to have a Zoom conversation with her friends, lifting her feet out of the way so the masked maid can sweep underneath her and she grumbles about how her bootlegger is completely useless these days and out of the corner of her eye she notices the maid taking off her mask to wipe her face and she says, "Hang on guys, the maid's exposing all of us to germs, honestly these people" and after she's done shouting at her maid, she lies in bed in her air conditioned room looking at pictures from her Paris trip in January. She posts a nice one, a brimming plate, a glass of wine. "Gutted that we can't go to Venice as we planned," she types, "It's so hard." Later, her cook bakes some bread, but she has to keep popping her head in to the kitchen to supervise and so she can post a picture of the bread to Facebook so she's hot again. She takes another shower just before bed, puts on more of this powder and goes to sleep, dreaming of beautiful things. #coronavirusdiaries
